@MicrobialLife @PNASNews Renewables cannot and will not be able to provide stable baseline power by 2060, even with storage technology. Wind is too inconsistent and solar obviously does not work in the evenings or nights when demand often peaks. Storage densities are too low.
We can't end fossil fuels without simultaneously calling for a serious ramp-up of nuclear in its wake. Nuclear is a safe, stable, reliable source of baseline power with an efficiency that fossils can only dream of having.
